Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers a mix of positives like a scenic view from the rooms and cleanliness throughout, but it falls short in terms of dated fixtures and poor-quality fittings. On the upside, it's conveniently close to key travel facilities and serves a great breakfast to kick off the day.
The hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms despite some issues with maintenance in common areas. The service is welcoming, but the restaurant and bar staff may fall short. Its prime location overlooking Windermere town with easy access to the lake and train station adds to its appeal.
The hotel had some disappointments with marked walls and mold in the bathroom but was clean and well-decorated, offering a bright atmosphere. The heat in the room was excessive, and the towels had a moldy smell. However, the hotel's location at the back was peaceful.
The hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a bit cramped with a bathroom so narrow that sitting on the loo meant risking burning your legs on the heated towel rail. The readiness of our room was delayed, and the eventual room we received was not as advertised, making it unsuitable for staying in.
The hotel is located at the very top of Windermere center, offering good value for money with excellent breakfasts. The rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment but are spacious and clean. The dining experience was a nightmare with rude staff, better to eat elsewhere. The location is convenient for Orrest Head walk and Windermere town, although the walk uphill can be challenging.
The hotel is conveniently located near Bowness-on-Windermere, offering great views towards Bowness and Lake Windermere. The rooms, though a bit tired with old sash windows, were clean and tidy. The staff was friendly, but service let down by clueless restaurant and bar staff. Breakfast was chaotic and poorly managed.
The hotel was in a surprising location, near the train and bus station and town center. The room, although needed some refurbishment, was spacious despite being in the attic. The dining experience offered a good but ordinary buffet style selection. The new pizza service was enjoyable but slightly overpriced. Overall, it was conveniently situated but lacked some maintenance in decor.
My stay at the hotel was a bit disappointing overall. The location is great, right for Lake District touring, but the interiors are rundown and need updating. The rooms were not up to standard, with cleanliness and amenities lacking. However, the full English breakfast was amazing, and the hotel allows dogs in the dining area, which is a nice touch.
